Machans Beach State School Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) works in conjunction with the school and wider community to serve the school and students through a range of activities and goals.
What does the P&C do?
Our P&C operates a range of initiatives and goals throughout the school year, including:
- Operation of our school’s before and after school care and vacation care
- Operation of our school tuckshop
- Management of donations to the school through profits achieved from both business and fundraising initiatives
- Running of our yearly Colour Run major fundraiser
- Operations relating to fundraising activities, e.g. Moon Over Machans stall, athletics carnival stall, raffles and events throughout the year
- Work in conjunction with our school student community to bring an additional level of engagement to school through initiatives including Book Week activities, World Teachers Day celebrations, student competitions and various celebration events
- Liaise with local community, business and government departments to ensure ongoing support and opportunities for our school
- Assist in communicating the goals of the school, and support students and faculty where applicable
When are P&C meetings?
Our P&C does its best to remain dynamic and responsive to the needs of our members. For this reason, we have chosen not to allocate set days/times and instead work in conjunction with the needs of our attending members. We also utilise a range of communications for members who cannot attend in-person meetings, i.e. e-mail, newsletters, social media.
P&C meetings are held twice per term and while all members are very welcome, these are not mandatory to attend.
How can I get involved?
Our P&C accepts applications throughout the year, with all applications (with the exception of lifetime members) expiring and requiring renewal at the annual general meeting (AGM).
